Manufacturing Audit

DFM Redline
Audit.

Before you spend on tooling, we tear your part apart on screen — every wall, draft and undercut — and hand back a redlined report of exactly what will bite you on the factory floor, and how to fix it.

issues, caught before the tool was cut.

On a single recent audit we flagged fourteen separate manufacturing problems — sink-prone walls, undrafted faces, a hidden undercut — every one of which would have shown up as a defect or a tooling change after the steel was cut.

What you get

Every surface, checked against the floor.

Draft Angle Verification
Every face checked for clean ejection from the tool.
Wall Thickness Mapping
Thick and thin zones flagged before they cause sink or warp.
Parting Line Review
Where the tool splits — and what that choice costs you.
Undercut Identification
Every undercut listed, with a fix or an honest slider call.
Radius & Rib Check
Stress risers and fill problems caught while they're cheap.
Written Redline Report
A marked-up PDF with every issue and the recommended fix.
Is this for you?

When you need a DFM audit.

You're about to commit to tooling and want a second set of eyes first
Your part was designed by someone without injection-moulding experience
A toolmaker has flagged concerns about your geometry
You've had sink marks, warping or short shots on a previous part
You want a fixed, low-risk first step before a larger project
Proven result
14
issues caught in one audit

A redline is the cheapest engineer you'll hire.

Most parts arrive "ready for tooling." Most aren't. The audit is a surface-by-surface read of your CAD against how a mould actually fills, packs and ejects.

You get back a marked-up report: what's wrong, why it matters on the floor, and the specific change to make — before a toolmaker ever quotes you for a fix.

How much does a DFM audit cost?
The DFM Redline Audit is $297 to $497 depending on part size and complexity. The fee credits in full toward any project you commission afterward.
What file formats do you accept?
STEP is ideal. We also work with native CAD files and most common 3D formats. If you only have a sketch or drawing, tell us and we'll advise.
How long does the audit take?
Typically 3 to 5 business days from the moment we receive your file and target material.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. We sign an NDA before opening any client files, every time, with no exceptions.
