Design for Tooling

Mould-Ready
CAD Design.

Not a pretty model — a manufacturing-ready one. Full parametric CAD with the core/cavity split, gates and ejection already resolved, so your toolmaker gets a file that works on the first shot.

slider you didn't need can add lakhs to a tool.

The cost of a mould is decided in the CAD, not the toolroom. A parting line in the wrong place, an avoidable side-action, a wall that won't pack — each one quietly adds to the tool price or the reject rate. We design those costs out before they're locked in steel.

What you get

A file the toolmaker can't argue with.

Full Parametric Model
Clean, editable CAD built for manufacturing from the first surface.
Core / Cavity Split
The tool split defined — not left to the toolroom to guess.
Gate & Runner Strategy
Where the plastic enters, for a clean and balanced fill.
Ejection System
Ejector, lifter and slider strategy worked out up front.
Draft & Wall Resolution
Every face drafted, every wall set for consistent packing.
STEP + Native Files
Tooling-ready geometry, a DFM report, and 2 revision rounds.
Is this for you?

When you need mould-ready CAD.

You have a concept or sketch and need a manufacturing-ready model
Your existing CAD wasn't built with injection moulding in mind
Toolmakers are quoting you and need a proper part model
You want core/cavity, gates and ejection resolved before tooling
You're moving a product from prototype to mass production

4+ yrs
in continuous production

The design that earned a mould re-cut.

One commercial cooler we designed sold so well the original tooling physically wore out — and the client re-cut the mould rather than change the design. It's still in production four years on.

That only happens when the CAD is right the first time: clean ejection, balanced fill, and no surprises when the tool hits the floor.

Questions

Questions, answered.

How much does mould-ready CAD design cost?
Most parts fall between $1,500 and $3,000, scoped to complexity and tooling type. It includes a DFM report and two revision rounds.
Do you provide tooling-ready files?
Yes. You receive STEP files plus native CAD, with the core/cavity split, gating and ejection resolved so your toolmaker can quote directly.
Can you work from just a sketch?
Yes. A sketch, a spec, or a rough idea is enough to start. We develop it into a full parametric model.
Will you sign an NDA?
Always, before we open any files.
How many revisions are included?
Two revision rounds are included in the price. Further changes can be scoped if needed.
