Innovative Spiral Front Grille
A completely original spiral front grille was developed instead of conventional straight-bar or honeycomb patterns commonly used in domestic air coolers. The geometry creates a premium visual identity while maintaining excellent airflow and adequate protection for the fan. The distinctive grille immediately differentiates the product from existing market designs.
Lightweight Material-Saving Design
The spiral grille was engineered to significantly reduce plastic material usage without sacrificing structural integrity. Strategic rib placement and optimized geometry lower the overall component weight, reduce raw material consumption, and contribute to more economical high-volume manufacturing.
Manufacturing-Ready Plastic Construction
The cabinet and grille were designed using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. Proper draft angles, consistent wall thickness, practical tooling considerations, and injection mould-friendly geometry enable reliable production while maintaining excellent surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
Optimized Airflow Performance
The grille pattern was carefully developed to minimize airflow restriction while maintaining user safety and structural rigidity. The open-area distribution supports efficient air delivery from the fan, contributing to effective cooling performance without compromising the visual appearance of the product.
Premium Contemporary Styling
The overall cabinet combines clean proportions, modern surface transitions, integrated control placement, and a distinctive front fascia to create a premium consumer appliance. The design balances engineering practicality with strong visual appeal, making it suitable for today's competitive domestic air cooler market.

The engineering behind it.

The primary objective of this project was to rethink one of the most recognizable components of a domestic air cooler—the front fan grille. Instead of relying on traditional straight-slot or mesh patterns widely used throughout the industry, a completely new spiral grille geometry was developed to create a stronger visual identity while simultaneously improving manufacturing efficiency.

The grille structure was carefully optimized to reduce plastic material consumption without compromising strength or airflow. By strategically arranging the ribs, the design achieves a lightweight construction that lowers raw material usage and overall product weight while maintaining the structural performance required for everyday operation.

The complete cabinet was engineered using Design for Manufacturing principles, ensuring production-friendly geometry, appropriate draft angles, and practical injection mould tooling requirements. The final product combines innovative industrial design, optimized airflow, reduced material usage, and manufacturing readiness into a modern domestic air cooler suitable for large-scale production.
