Prototype
Full parametric model, manufacturing constraints built in from the first surface.

Functional FDM prototype to validate fit, geometry, and assembly before tooling.
This project represents a complete product development journey, demonstrating AMD Tech Lab's ability to transform an initial concept into a commercially manufactured consumer product while supporting continuous engineering improvements throughout its lifecycle.
The project began with the complete industrial design and CAD development of a modern air cooler featuring a clean appliance-inspired design language, production-ready plastic components, and a compact architecture suitable for large-scale manufacturing. The product was engineered to support both conventional electric operation and an optional solar-compatible motor configuration, allowing customers to pair the cooler with a separately supplied solar power system where required.
After the initial product development, the client requested an engineering enhancement to increase the available cooling media area without redesigning the entire cooler. Rather than replacing the existing platform, AMD Tech Lab developed multiple side intake grille concepts that incorporated additional honeycomb cooling pad sections while maintaining compatibility with the existing tank and cabinet architecture.
Several alternative grille designs were created and evaluated, including different airflow and styling approaches. Functional prototypes of the redesigned side panels were produced using 3D printing and assembled onto the client's existing cooler for physical evaluation. This prototype-driven process enabled real-world validation of the redesigned components before committing to production tooling.
By combining industrial design, production-oriented CAD engineering, design optimization, rapid prototyping, and physical validation, the project demonstrates AMD Tech Lab's complete product development capability—from concept generation and manufacturing-ready design to engineering refinement and commercial implementation.
